About Davlyn House

Our outstanding stunning home set in rural Stoke-On-Trent, has a fantastic team who are highly passionate about enabling our residents to be as independent as possible. We pride ourselves on giving person-centred care to meet the needs of all our residents.


Every person is valued and their personal identity is respected. Here at Davlyn House we promote inclusivity, choice and freedom enabling people to live their lives in a safe, beautiful and comfortable setting.


We believe in treating each person with the dignity and respect that they so deserve. Our 'Angels' are Dignity Champions and have won awards for their work in promoting Dignity, we are members of the National Dignity Council which promotes dignity for all.

Why us

Davlyn house is situated in a setting with far reaching views over the surrounding countryside, our sheltered courtyard garden is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the colourful flowers whilst enjoying an ice-cream or a drink with friends and family. Our beautiful garden rooms enable us to use the gardens throughout the year. 


We have several lounges and seating areas throughout the home where people can either enjoy each other’s company or have a quiet space to relax. Bedrooms are decorated to a high standard and have excellent facilities with most having en-suite facilities. Rooms can be personalised to choice and residents can bring their own treasures and possessions if they wish.


Our cooks provide wholesome meals to an excellent standard, served in our restful dining areas, drinks and snacks are available throughout the day. We like to treat our residents to a variety of cuisines so regularly have themed dinners including: Indian, Chinese, Italian meals. Sample menus are available on request. 


Our staff


Our staff are highly skilled and motivated. Continual training is very important to us, staff frequently update their knowledge and skills in line with up-to-date legislation in order to enable them to deliver outstanding personalised care.


The staff have a range of qualifications which include Diploma in Care Levels 2, 3, and Leadership and Management qualifications at Level 4 and 5.  We also have staff who have attained Assessor qualifications and Education and Learning, which complements the training provided by external providers. 


Activities



At Davlyn house we pride ourselves in knowing the importance of stimulating the mind. Our Activity Co-ordinators, supported by our amazing staff provide a wide range of activities these include; ‘Knit and Natter’ where residents have made many items to support local charities.


Regular arts and crafts, quizzes and puzzles, exercise classes, visiting entertainers, our famous dignity cruise, musical afternoons, karaoke, garden activities where we have grown our own fruit and vegetables. Trips out Knypersley Reservoir, Trentham Gardens, Mow Cop are also among our favourites.


One of the highlights of the year are trips out on the canal with lunch provided.  Residents are supported and encouraged to continue with any hobbies or interests they had prior to joining us


The community


Our local community is very supportive of the home and we have developed an excellent relationship with the Village Church. We play an active part in the community, attending Church Services, the Choir and ‘Snack and Chat’. The Davlyn House family believes that the home should be at the heart of the community.


We have developed excellent links with local schools, who have visited us in the past and love to send personalised letters to our residents.
